I have really neglected this blog lately. I cannot begin to tell you how busy I have been lately. The kids and I got moved into a house in Hoover the last weekend in July. The house is in a nice subdivision and we really lucked out it. It's fairly close to my work and the school is amazing that Mackenzie attends. The kids transferred daycares and I've been very pleased with this knew daycare, although it did take me a few weeks to adjust.
I am still working at Wells Fargo as a temp. I've been with them since the 1st week of June. I really enjoy the work I'm doing and I hope that I continue to wow them and keep my job. Things have slowed down a bit from the mini-refinance boom there and last Thursday they let 6 temps go so now there are only 3 of us. I was the last one to start and I'm still standing. As a matter of fact the 3 of us left are the last 3 to start.
Going back to work in June has really done wonders for me. It gave me purpose again (asides from my kids) and I've been able to use my skills again. I swore I'd never get back on the mortgage side of the business but I'm having a great time. It's challenging, fast paced and most days I want to put my hands around the throat of one of the loan officers but it's great.
Avery has grown by leaps and bounds. She'll be 10 months on Monday. She is crawling all over the place and now stands every chance she gets. She wants to walk so bad but she can't quite get it. We also never thought she'd get teeth. Now I know things would be slow for her because she was 6 weeks early but I seriously thought she needed her mouth x-rayed to see if she had teeth in there. Finally 2 weeks ago I noticed one of her eye teeth was halfway in (she had always refused to let me see before then). Now the other 3 top teeth are starting to come in. I think it's a tad strange because she didn't get her bottom teeth first but I'm just happy that she has teeth. I could picture her gumming her food and sitting in a trailer park after a tornado hit being interviewed by the news.
Mackenzie turns 9 a week from today. I've been hearing the countdown for a few weeks now. She's so excited. I cannot believe how fast time flies. It seems as if she was just hear yesterday. She was one of the most wonderful things that has ever happened to me. She is doing well in school so far and I really like her teacher. She seems to already have adjusted to everything. She loves being at school early each morning so she can be a car patrol helper. She gets to wear a vest and help each kid out of the cars. She looks forward to it every morning. So she wants me to drop her off first each morning.
Jackson is flourishing in pre-k. This is really his first time ever in a structured learning environment. I am amazed at what he has learned so far and sooooooo very happy that he doesn't scream and cry every morning when I leave him any more. It went on for way too long but he's gotten past that. He loves the fact that Mackenzie is brought to the daycare after school each day for the after school care. He looks forward to her being there every day.
So everything is going well here. We're surviving without Lee and things run pretty smooth. I do get tired some days but I wouldn't trade my life with anyone else.
