It's Been a While

Wow I'm so out of touch with writing. I've had a stomach bug for 2 weeks. I am finally getting over it. Besides loosing 15lbs, I have no energy. It's taking a long time to get back on my feet. I've just been so exhausted. What was worse is that the bug hit me the day of Mackenzie's 7th birthday party. Yes, it was a spend the night party and yes we had 20 girls come. And yes I know I'm crazy. It was horrible having so many girls here while I was so sick. I don't think I've been that sick before. I went to the ER and they gave me IV fluids and all. It is something I don't want to repeat anytime soon.

So my little angel turned 7. I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. It seems like yesterday she was Jackson's age. Man oh man. She's in 2nd grade now and I think she's smarter than I am. Well, almost. She got a new bike for her birthday, it's got these bars on the back of the wheels, I guess for doing tricks, but it's not like she's going to use them. If she does I'll kill her. She also got the bunkbed she's been dying for. It hasn't come in yet but she's so excited. She also got a new dresser and mirror. It looks so nice in her room. I can't wait for her new bed to get here.

We ordered all new bedroom furniture and desk/hutch. I am soooo excited. My dresser is the only piece that has come in so far. The desk/hutch is being delivered on Tuesday. Wow! We're finally going to have furniture in our room besides our king mattress and big screen TV. It's amazing.

So my new business has taken off so quickly. I am still in the same line of work but I'm essentially a consultant/independent contractor. I keep 90% of the premiums I collect (after the u/w's portion) and she's pays for my E&O insurance, etc. So it's just lke having my own business without the headache of insurance and dealing w/ the underwriters. I leased an office space in Destin in a really nice building. It's incredibly cheap too. This month I'll end up bringing in what I made before and that's after my expenses. I'm really excited about this new venture.

I'm also working part time as a virtual assistant for my favorite realtor. I'm helping her with her website design and on her personal real estate investments. It's really exciting. I'm being paid a modest hourly amount but I honestly don't care about the money. It's fun for me and I'm excited to help her out. I just love Ms. Betty to death. She's so knowledgeable and just a great and ethical person. There aren't a lot of them left out there.

I've gotten a lot of good contacts from my contracts that I have of Betty's. I definitely think that this realtor I'm working with on the other side of the deal will use me again. She's super sweet and 100% above board which is so important to me. I'm still working with a broker in PC and it's turning out very well.

I've been working from home for the past month or so. I'm putting in maybe 20 hours a week at this time. Now that I'm finally over my bug I'm going to start marketing to a select group of people who I'd like to work with. I don't want to be the biggest firm, just the best. I am totally enjoying the quality of life it brings. I can pick Mackenzie up from school early and Jackson too. I can go on field trips, go to the spa (I had a 80 min massage today and it was so nice), go shopping for groceries, etc. I really love the flexibility.
